Inspection checklist
Hyundai i20 1.0 T-GDI 100 PS DCT
Print it or open it on your phone before viewing the car. Tick every fault you find at the seller or the inspector.
Enter the mileage and the faults common at that mileage are highlighted.
Known faults: tick the ones you find
Recalls: ask the seller
Have the authorised dealer check the chassis number; an open recall is normally repaired free of charge.
- 2025 · Fuel pump (51DT07): It was found that the fuel pump impeller can swell under heat and the effect of the fuel; the engine may run poorly or stall. Scope: i20 and Bayon built between April 2021 and December 2022 (EU RAPEX alert 40/2025). Repair is free at an authorised workshop. Whether a car is covered by the campaign should be checked with the VIN. Note: cars built in 2020 fall outside this production range; a VIN check is still recommended. Source: compilation by RAPEX/car-recalls.eu and the Spanish press (KBA data); the campaign scope in Turkey still needs to be confirmed separately.
Service history: ask for records
Ask for the service book or invoices. These items should have been done on time:
- Engine oil + oil filter (every 15,000 km / every 12 months)
- DCT fluid (every 60,000 km)
- Spark plugs (every 45,000 km)
- Air filter (every 30,000 km / every 24 months)
- Pollen filter (every 15,000 km / every 12 months)
- Brake fluid (every 24 months)
Check on the test drive
- Start the engine cold: there should be no smoke, shaking or odd noises.
- With the ignition on, all warning lights should flash once and then none should stay lit.
- The brakes should not shudder, pull or squeal.
- On a straight road the car should not drift when you loosen the wheel; there should be no thuds or creaks over bumps.
- The air conditioning and all electrical equipment (windows, mirrors, multimedia) should work.
- Gear changes should be smooth; there should be no judder or slipping when pulling away.
- Dual-clutch gearbox: if it judders or jerks on hills or in stop-and-go traffic, walk away.
- Turbo: there should be no blue or white smoke or unusual whistling when you accelerate.
